Students in grades 6–10. No coding experience required — just curiosity, a laptop, and consistent attendance. Cohorts are grouped by grade level (6–8 and 9–10) when enrollment allows. We don't offer classes below grade 6 — this curriculum uses real developer tools, and we'd rather teach it right than water it down.
No. Students work with real, text-based code and professional tools from the start. We teach enough fundamentals that they can read and direct what AI writes — that's the skill that matters now.
Their choice — an app, a website, an AI-powered tool, an automation, a game. We help each student scope an idea they care about that's finishable in 10 weeks.
$225 tuition plus roughly $40–60 for a Claude Pro subscription during the build weeks. Everything else we use is free. No other hidden costs.
The Meritt Certificate of Completion is issued by our program. Separately, our curriculum prepares students to pursue recognized certifications like Google AI Essentials on their own.
Every class is recorded, and we'll do a short catch-up before the next session so no one falls behind.
Each class ends with one job: apply what you just learned to your own project. Students can message instructors between classes when they're stuck.
Your student can list Meritt as their program affiliation in competitions and gets prep coaching from us. Meritt is a student-run program, not a corporate sponsor — we're in their corner, not on their paperwork.
Live on Google Meet — cameras encouraged, every session recorded for makeups.
Full refund any time through the end of Week 2. No refunds after — by then your student has attended two of the ten classes.
